Genus - Fagus, Species - sylvatica "Dawyckii Purple"

This is a narrow, upright tree with deep purple leaves that hold their color well all summer. A slower grower and a bit more open than the Dawyckii Green. Branching is strongly vertical. Size at 10 years is about 15 feet by 3 feet. Zone 4 to 7.
