Genus - Chamaecyparis, Species - obtusa "Gracilis"
This is a deep green, slow growing, pyramidal-shaped plant. The branches are irregularly spaced and have the graceful drooping look of all Japanese cypress. It has beautiful red bark that contrasts with the deep green foliage. It can be used as a hedge. Size at 10 years is about 12 feet by 4 feet. Zone 4 to 8.
