Genus - Chamaecyparis, Species - obtusa "Compacta"

A semi-dwarf, dark green attractive shrub with dense, feathery branching. Some of its new growth can have a yellow-green color. As with all Japanese hinokis, it is easy to bonsai. Size at 10 years is about 10 feet by 4 feet. Zone 4 - 8.
