Genus - sempervirens "Newport Blue", Species - Buxus
This form of boxwood is known for being very dense and multi-stemmed. As the name suggests, it has small, bluish-green, evergreen leaves. It tends to grow in a tight mound and needs little pruning unless you want a special shape. Deer tend to leave this one alone. A slow grower that likes sun to partial shade. Does fine in containers but will require more water than if in the ground. At 10 years will be 24" X 3'.
