Genus - Pinus, Species - nigra "Frank"

A very strong vertical element in the garden often confused for Arnold Sentinel. It has shorter needles and is tighter than Arnold Sentinel. This may be why it seems to handle ice and snow loads better, Even so, in areas with very heavy snow, it should be loosely tied in the fall. Size at 10 years is about 6 to 8 feet by 2 feet.
