Genus - Picea, Species - bicolor "Howell's Dwarf"
Howell's Dwarf is a striking bicolor with two-toned branches with needles that are silver-blue on the bottom and green on the top. Pruned out the leader and it will become a flat topped shrub or leave the leader and it will be a pyramidal tree. Spring brings a great color burst with colorful, upright red-purple cones. Size at 10 years is about 6 feet by 5 feet. Zone 4 - 8. 9 ( formerly Picea alcoquiana)
