Genus - Sequoiadendron, Species - giganteum "Pendulum"
A true individualist, the sequoia's main trunk grows as an upright column. However, it can often veer to the side or send up secondary side branches that add interest and fun to the shape. The branches and main trunk are covered with a blanket of thick bluish-green needles. This tree is a true living sculpture. Some specimens of this tree grow to over 100'. Most mature to 40 or 60 feet by 2 to 3 feet. Zone 6 to 9.Go Back
